DefendRecycling.org is the advocacy Web site of the Indiana Recycling Coalition (IRC). We believe Indiana law defining recycling should not be turned upside down to include incineration. Why? Simply put—it’s not recycling. Even incineration that harnesses waste to produce energy is not true recycling. Waste-to-energy technology is still considered a form of disposal by the U.S. EPA and all states.
